I've been working on a list of found footage/screenlife directed by women. It's my new passion project. Other lists exist, but I'm trying to collect mine more holistically. Whatever that means!

I've managed to come across some real gems, but Livescreamers might still be my favorite.

I think this is the best thing I've ever written.

I've wanted to tackle Romero's underappreciated Land of the Dead for almost 20 years. I only recently felt like I was in a place to do so.

​SPELLBINDER (1988)

Directed by Janet Greek and starring and unconscionably hot Tim Daly, Spellbinder follows Daly as he white-knights his way into Kelly Preston's life, rescuing her from an awful boyfriend or cult or... something.

Truly some of the wildest, most disturbing imagery I've ever seen, and I can't recommend it enough.

​THE ORACLE (1985)

Directed by the incomparable

Roberta Findlay, The Oracle is one of the best '80s horror movies I'd never seen. Haunted objects, and mediums, and hallucinations, oh my! This absolutely wild story would make a perfect double feature with The Sentinel. And if you dig it, check out Findlay's other stuff, especially Lurkers.

​STRIPPED TO KILL (1987).

Too often movies about strippers (especially ones from the '80s) are sad affairs where a barely seen woman is murdered or stalked or something equally awful. Just because she's a stripper. Not the kind of titillation I'm looking for honestly.

Stripped to Kill certainly gets into murder, and there's some iffy gender stuff. But the stripping--and the women--make this a truly special movie.

​BE MY VALENTINE (2026)

See? I can watch new movies too.

And it just so happens to be found footage. Be My Valentine is exactly what I want from a lady-stalker movie. Pitch perfect performances, fun takes, and unhinged action, it's definitely worth a look.
